Panchanga Patanam was read out on Tamil New Years Day, April 14 at Veda Patasaala in Mylapore.
K. V. Seshadrinatha Sastrigal (ex Principal of Madras Sanskrit College) explained the highlights from the almanac and elaborated the effect of the movement of planets for various stars.
He also mentioned that the New Year “Kara” would bring more prosperity in the fields of agriculture and metals.
