M. S. Sampath passed away on April 29. He was a resident of Mylapore for nearly 66 years.
Sampath was the third son of late M. Sundarsanam Iyengar. He was a partner of the firm M/s M. Sundarsanam Iyengar and Sons, a firm that is well known in the timber trade and has been in it for over 50 years.
His family said that Sampath would walk all along the Marina Beach after business hours, starting from the High Court end, down the beach and up to his residence on Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai. “He used to tell us that this was the best form of exercise,” a family member said.
He is survived by a younger brother, sister, son and three daughters.
