Feast of St. Thomas celebrated at the cathedral

The feast of St. Thomas was celebrated at the National Shrine of St. Thomas – it began on June 24 with the flag hoisting ceremony.

The statue of the saint was taken in a procession on July 2 evening The procession began at Our Lady of Guidance Church, R. A. Puram and reached the National Shine of St. Thomas.

The newly erected flag-mast was blessed on the same day.

There were special prayers and Holy Masses on all the days. The feast came to an end with the lowering of the flag on July 3.

The Syro-Malabar congregation which has its services at the Cathedral hosted a special celebration on Sunday. Rt. Rev. Dr. Verghese Chakkalackal, Bishop of Kannur Latin Diocese was the main celebrant. He is the Secretary General of CCBI, Latin Bishops conference.
