Celebrate but do not create problems around you – that is the message that Mylapore Police want to share with the neighbourhood as people prepare to ring in the New Year.
Mylapore zone DCP, T. K. Puhalenthi says that they have also advised hotels and restaurants on measures they must take to ensure celebrations are warm and decent.
“Special permission has been given to hotels and restaurants, they will be open for mid night parties till 2 a.m.,” he says.
The police force will be increased in important places like R. K. Salai, Marina Beach, Greenways Road and Kamaraj Salai.
Police patrol vehicles will be on the rounds till dawn, he added.
