Acharyanet and Gaanapriya (gaanapriya.in) are organising a 3-hour workshop with Chitravina N Ravikiran (http://www.ravikiranmusic.com), to commemorate the centenary of the Carnatic music legends, T Brinda and Madurai Mani Iyer.
The event will be recorded live and made available for download for online students.
The workshop is open to students of middle and advanced levels (who have a minimum repertoire of 25 kritis) and musicians and instrumentalists between the age group 7 to 65.
Topics will include: Art of rendering kalpana swarams in various talas, speeds and patterns, what is sarva laghu, mathematical finishes (korvais), rare compositions including some exquisite javalis.
It will be held on March 3 at Arkay Convention Center, Mylapore from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
