Tamil Nadu Governor Dr. K. Rosaiah is to be the chief guest at the 112th jayanthi of Potti Sreeramulu to be held on March 16, 6 p.m. onwards at Andhra Mahila Sabha, Luz.
This event, an annual one is being held by the Amarajeevi Potti Sreeramulu Memorial Society.
Sreeramulu lost his life following a hunger strike he undertook fighting for the formation of a state for the Telugus; and this led to the formation of Andhra Pradesh.
Three distinguished people are to be felicitated at this event – Bapu, Eswar and Dr.Rentala Jayadeva.
Dr. Madabushi Sampath Kumar, Head of the Telugu Dept., University of Madras will give a lecture on ‘Telugu Lipi Vaisishtyam’.
