Sewage flows out on San Thome Road, pollutes area

One section of San Thome High Road stank to the high heavens on Sunday. This was caused by the steady and heavy overflow of sewage on to this busy road.

At two points, the sewage openings opposite Hotel Sangeetha and at Nilgiris store flowed out steadily through Sunday.

The waste water accumulated along the roadside and was splashed all over by passing vehicles, spreading all over and polluting the area.

Sewage lines on this road overflow now and then and pollute the area. When it rains, rainwater mixes with sewage and spreads the pollution.

Though Metrowater arranges to clear the mess, the problem persists, said a staff at Nilgiris store on Sunday.
