Young Carnatic music artistes in limelight today perform at this fest

From November 26 to 29, The ARTery (an arts and culture magazine) will present the second edition of ‘Voices of Tomorrow’ – a music festival featuring some of the brightest talents in Indian classical music below the age of 30.

The festival is a curtain raiser for Chennai’s December music season with an emphasis on aesthetics and traditional content. Dedicated to Prof. T. R. Subramanyam (TRS), eminent vocalist and guru who passed away recently, there will be four concerts, one on each day.

Rithvik Raja, R. Raghavendra, Vidya Kalyanaraman and Sriranjani Santhanagopalan will present Carnatic kutcheris, with a pallavi as centrepiece dedicated to TRS. The artistes will be supported by seasoned accompanists. Thirty-minute talks by prominent artists and experts on topics of interest to music lovers and students will be held. All are welcome.
