Home-made ‘vathals’ and ‘vadams’

Rajam Store is a nook in R. A. Puram started in the 1950s. Essentially a provision store for readymade packaged goods started by late K. R. Srinivasa Iyer, it is now run by his family. They also make home-made ‘vathals’ and ‘vadams’ in varieties of sago, ‘kuchi’, ‘arisi’, and onion flavour. Purchased in bulk, they are popular among Indian families living abroad. A quarter kilo costs Rs. 95.
