On now till July 20, ‘dhaaniyam virundhu saapadu’ is the food festival being promoted by Mahamudhra restaurant at Luz. Millets were the staple diet of people before wheat and rice took over. Millets are the best sources of nutrients for children and adults alike, says Meena Thennaapan, in charge of food R&D at Isha Life.
The millet festival is on for lunch, snacks and dinner and features dishes like varagu arisi thenga sadam, thinai adai, samai pulao, ragi halwa, kuthiravalli kozhukattai, samai payasam, and more. Gluten-free and wholesome, the millets used are foxtail, barnyard, finger millets and more.
