Vailankanni-bound pilgrims walk down San Thome High Road

Scores of pilgrims who are undertaking a pilgrimage in honour of Mother mary and walking to Vailankanni nar Nagapattinam are seen walking down San Thome High Road the past two days.

Many aim to end their pilgrimage on time and take part in the flag hoisting event at the cathedral there. the day the feast begins.

These pilgrims hail from parts of north and central zones of the city and a few stop over at the Annai Vailankanni Shrine in Besant Nagar before walking down the ECR to their destination. A few good Samaritans had set up makeshift pandals near Foreshore Estate to serv water and light snacks to these pilgrims.
