The rain has taken a break on Tuesday. But it was heavy on Monday evening flooding many a inner street and lane in the Mylapore area. A tour of East Mada Street, Sundareswarar Street, Mandavelipakkam and San Thome High Road showed the large swathes of water that flooded the area.
San Thome High Road zone off Dooming Street and Mada Church Street saw water level rise quickly and cover even the pavements here.
Sabhas in Mylapore which are hosting December Season concerts were deserted. Inside, rasikas were thin – at one hall there were only 15 of them enjoying the concert.
