Mylaporeans participate in World Sanskrit Conference: At Bangkok

sanskrit conferenceScholars from The Kuppuswamy Sastri Research Institute, Mylapore presented papers at the World Sanskrit Conference held from June 28 – July 2 at Silpakorn University, Bangkok. More than 700 scholars from 30 countries participated in this conference which is held every two years.

Several Mylaporeans including former principal of Vivekananda College – Dr. S. Ramaratnam, Dr. C. S. Radhakrishnan – Prof. of Sanskrit, Pondicherry University and resident of R. A. Puram for more than three decades and Dr. G. Mishra, Prof. of philosophy, University of Madras took part in this conference.

Cultural programmes in Sanskrit like skits, dramas and dances were held in the evening. The delegates were also taken on a trip to Cambodia to view the ancient temples there.
