The Chennai Chapter of INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) has organised a talk this Friday, Sep 11, about ‘ Future ecological areas of Chennai’. Dr. Jayshree Vencatesan is a Smithsonian Fellow and S. Ramaseshan Fellow. She is also a member of the Tamil Nadu State Coastal Management Authority. She has authored more than thirty eight publications. She is interested in wetland conservation, land use and land cover change and forest dynamics and will deliver this lecture. The talk will focus on the ecological fragments of Chennai and discuss what lies ahead for the city. At Assembly Hall, Jeypore Block, QMC, 5.30 p.m.
