Vidya Mandir-planting saplings

A small attempt was made by the students of Vidya Mandir, Mylapore, who represent Swami Vivekananda Study Circle, towards fulfilling the dreams of late India president Dr. Abdul Kalam.

On Oct 15, Dr. Kalam’s birthday, the students planted 100 saplings in Srinivasapuram near Foreshore Estate. The students said they had a rich experience interacting with the local residents and convincing them to monitor the saplings.

The school principal Shobha Raman and the vice principal Uma Balasubramaniam thanked Rev. Sylus Gnanadoss of CSI St. Luke’s Church of Mandaveli, for taking the initiative and providing the saplings.
