Two events have been planned at Madras Sanskrit College, Mylapore this coming week. The first will be the inauguration of the ‘Brahmasri Anna Subramaniam Bhagavatam Chair’ to be held on Jan 19. Dr. Mani Dravid, ‘Mahamahopadhyaya awardee for the year 2015’ will be felicitated at this event.
R. S. Ramanathan, retd. Judge, Madras High Court, will inaugurate the chair. Dr. R. Krishnamurthy Sastrigal, former principal of the college, will deliver a special address. R. B. Athreya, former senior officer, SBI will speak about the chair. At 4 p.m.
The second event, to be held on Jan 21, is the inauguration of the ‘Krishna Narayana Vedanta Chair’. Dr. Goda Venkateswara Sastrigal, retd officer, RBI, Chennai will deliver the inaugural address at this event. Dr. S. Narayanan and Jalaja Narayanan will give a special address. At 4 p.m.
