The Idol Wing CID police of the Economic Offences Wing of TN Police have been locating more idols and works of art in Alwarpet as it continues its probe into the idol smuggling racket of Deenadayalan.
The police located a godown in Venus Colony where idols and artworks were stored; the place was rented out, we are told. Experts who had a look at the idols located at the second place say they are antique and worth crores of rupees in the antiques market.
The police had earlier raided a bungalow on Murrays Gate Road, Alwarpet where they found a large amount of idols and paintings. Three men were arrested and Deenadayalan has surrendered.
