Traffic Police have upped their watch, detail and fine responsibility against bikers who do not wear helmets. Teams of police are now seen at busy intersections on San Thome High Road and Dr R K Salai detaining offenders and challaning them.
This follows the Madras High Court taking a strong view on the attitude of the state on the compulsory wearing of helmets.
A number of motorists do not wear helmets while driving.
