Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan presented a flavor of the Onam festival on Tuesday evening with two performances at its auditorium.
A Anna Nagar-based cultural group presented a snappy medley of kaikottikali dances and this was followed by an hour-long jugalbandhi of Astapadiyattam ( said to be the precussor of Kathakali ) and Mohiniattam, featuring Parbal Gupta and Mythili Anoop.
The foyer of the Bhavan was decorated with the traditional pookalam.
An audience of about 300 people watched the Onam special, curated by Utsav Music. Retired IAS officer C K Gariyali was the special guest at this show.
