Archbishop Rev. George Antonysamy of Madras-Mylapore diocese distributed clothes to all the children at a Chennai Corporation Primary School in Abhiramapuram on Saturday morning.
The event was hosted by the members of the St Vincent de Paul Society at Our Lady of Visitation Church, St Mary’s Road, in the same neighbourhood.
This group involves itself in small social work activities, with funds donated by the parish community.
The archbishop was at this church to lead a special religious service that morning.
This church campus is home to the Descanco church, said to have been built in the 16th century and one of the places where saint Thomas rested during his travels between San Thome and Little Mount areas.
