Mylapore resident being interrogated for IS links

32 year old Mohammed Iqbal, a resident of Bazaar Street, Mylapore, was arrested by intelligence agencies in Rajasthan last month for his links with the Islamic State. A tip-off from the Rajasthan anti-terrorist squad led to his arrest.

According to police sources Mohammed, who speaks Tamil fluently, has been a resident of Bazaar Street for more than 15 years.

A senior police official says that Mohammed who is currently being interrogated at Kotturpuram Police Station arrived in the city about three days ago. Since the case has been filed in Rajasthan, he will be taken back there after interrogation.
