At least two cases of smartphone-snatching crimes have been reported in the south side of TTK Road since last weekend.
In one case, bike-borne youth swung close to a young woman who was holding a iPhone in her hand, yanked it and sped off. The family, residents of Sriram Nagar has lodged a complaint with the Teynampet police.
A similar crime was committed in the same area a day later but this case is not confirmed by police.
In the past few weeks, a few chain-snatching cases have also been reported here and police on patrol said they were posted because of the string of crimes and complaints.
