Land grab case: Writer Maraimalai Adigalar’s grandson lodges formal complaint

Thiruvaranga Vairamuthu, Tamil writer Maraimalai Adigalar’s grandson, who is currently a visiting faculty member at LBS Academy of Administration at Mussorie, Uttrakhand has lodged a formal complaint against his relatives for encroaching upon his property at Alwarpet.

Vairamuthu met the city police commissioner A. K. Viswanathan, on Tuesday, June 13, in this regard. He has stated that his publishing firm ‘Saiva Sithanda Publishing House’ at 552, T. T. K. Road, Alwarpet, which belonged to his mother Nilambikai Amaiyar, daughter of Maraimalai Adigalar, is being illegally occupied by his relative R. Muthukumarasamy and his associates.

The relatives have also taken possession of his agricultural land at Tirunelveli, a house at Palayamkottai and company shares.

The city police commissioner has promised to initiate action.
