DRAMA

ON RAMANA MAHARISHI: Bombay Gnanam is presenting the new play on “Bhagavan Sri Ramanar.” Dramatised and directed by Bombay Gnanam, performed by Mahalakshmi Pengal Theatre Trust at Kumararajah Muthiah Hall, Chettinad Vidyashram, R.A. Puram, on June 23 at 6 p.m. Entry free.

DANCE

BHARATANATYAM SCHOOL’S ANNIV:  Alwarpet based Sri Lasya Priya School of Bharatanatyam, headed by Sreedevi Priya Sriram, is celebrating its 15th anniversary on July 6 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Mylapore.  A thematic presentation “Om Saravana Bhava” will be given by the students of

MUSIC 

REMEMBERING RAMNAD KRISHNAN: Chennai Fine Arts is celebrating the birth centenary of vidwan Ramnad Krishnan on June 23. A musical evening is on at Srinivasa Sastri Hall, Luz Church Road, Mylapore, at 6.15 p.m.

REMEMBERING D. K. PATTAMMAL: Naada Inbam has organised a concert series highlighting ragam, thalam and pallavi to mark the birth centenary of vocalist-guru D. K. Pattammal on June 23 and 24 at Raga Sudha Hall, Luz.
On June 23, a listening session of a RTP rendered by D.K.Pattammal will
be held with insights by Suguna Varadachari. Sumitra Vasudev’s concert will follow. On
June 24, Ritha Rajan will provide insights at the RTP listening session. Prasanna
Venkataraman’s vocal concert will follow. 6.15 p.m. onwards.

KOREAN POP FESTIVAL: For the first time, a Korean Pop festival with multiple bands is on. Veteran singer Jung Jaewooksuch, Chloris, a new girl-group, and Royal KD will perform. The event is on June 29 and 30 at the Music Academy. While entry to concert on June 29 at 7.30 p.m. is by invitation, on June 30 at 5 p.m. it is free to all.

EXHIBITION

CRAFTS OF INDIA: Handcrafted apparels made out of the finest hand-made cotton are on display at the ongoing HandsOfIndia exhibition. The expo features 10 hand-embroidery forms from around the country.  The exhibition-cum-sale is on till June 25, from 9.30 a.m. daily At the C.P. Art Centre, Alwarpet. Ph: 8077294651, 9845227919.
