Alwarpet state-run library hosts literary meets every Sunday now

A group of people keen on promoting and discussing Thamizh literature has been hosting events in some public libraries across the city.
Now, it has made a start at the Alwarpet state-run library located on Bharathidasan Road that runs west from TTK Road ( the library is located on the left side as you approach SIET College/ at a junction).

For the past three Sundays, this group has held meets which feature guests who look at Thamizh writers and their works.
This Sunday, a professor will talk about writer Imaiyam.
The meet lasts about 90 minutes.
Mithun, a key member of this group says some 25 to 30 people attend the meetings but they want to expand the reach and invite residents of the Alwarpet-Abhiramapuram-Eldams Road areas to the event.
