Old girls of Rani Meyammai School honour their teachers

It was an evening to respect those who taught them. The old students of Rani Meyammai Girls School, R. A. Puram who had gathered at the school premises on Sep 19 evening were there to feliciate the teachers who had patiently nurtured them.

The event began with a welcome address. The teachers were then honoured with garlands and mementoes. A short cultural programme by two students followed.

The teachers and the old girls then took the audience on a nostalgic trip back to the good old school days. An idea, to form an endowment fund in the name of Late Saraswathi Srinivasan, the first headmistress of the school, took shape. The contribution of retired teachers Janaki Chandrasekar and K. Lalitha and maths teacher Sitalakshmi Srinivasan were remembered.

Later, the group parted with the thought that this was an august beginning for more to come.
