The Karthigai Deepam celebration at Sri Kapali Temple were held on the temple campus on Thursday, ending with the chokka panai at Sannidhi Street junction.
But they continued on Friday evening when the Deepam is celebrated at Thiruvannamalai in a grand manner.
Volunteers and devotees helped set up over a thousand earthen lamps all over the temple tank steeps and later poured oil and lit them.
That night, the tank created a magical effect.
