V. Gopal passed away on July 21 at the age of 88.
He was a longtime resident of Mylapore, residing in Bheemana Garden Street, Thiagarajapuram and Alamelumangapuram.
He was an engineer and contractor by profession. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. The family can be reached at 9840018982.
S. Meenakshi passed away on 21 July at the age of 97. She was a resident of Apparswamy Koil Street for 80 years. She was a senior teacher.
Fondly called as Meenakshi teacher, she taught students of the primary sections at Children’s Garden Higher Secondary School. She taught here for over 30 years.
Well-known personalities like AVM Saravanan, Manika Vinayagam and Dr. Chockalingam were her students. She was the last surviving member of her contemporaries at the school.
“She rendered selfless service in her professional and in her personal life,” her family said.
