Christians visit local cemeteries on day they pray for the dead

Christians have been visiting the two cemeteries in the Mylapore zone to pray at the graves of their family as the community observes All Souls Day on Nov.2 every year -a  time to remember the dead and pray for them.

Since dawn, families were seen inside the old Quibble Island cemetery in R. A. Puram located off Dr. D. G. S. Dhinakaran Road and at the Chennai Corporation cemetery on St Mary’s Road, off Jeth Nagar.

Many nuns visited the graves of the nuns of their congregation which are set in a row inside the Quibble Island cemetery.

The stream of visitors grew through the morning.

Later, priests will hold a prayer service and bless the graves.
