Philosopher J. Krishnamurti’s 125th birth anniv: weeklong events in R. A. Puram

To mark the 125th birth anniversary of philosopher, J. Krishnamurti, a few events are planned at KFI campus, Vasant Vihar in R. A. Puram ( Greenways Road / Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Salai).

Exhibition: this immersive visual art exhibition – The First Step Is The Last Step – is on J. Krishnamurti, the teacher & the teachings. From February 1 – 8.

Book Launch – World Teacher – The Life And Teachings of J. Krishnamurti written by R E Mark Lee. The book is biography on Krishnamurti by Mark Lee – a easy-to-read narrative aimed at introducing the younger generation to a spiritual teacher with the messages of love, compassion, and self-knowledge.  The author will be in conversation with Siddhartha Menon, director, Rajghat Besant School on Feb. 1 at 6 pm

Musical story-telling session; On February 3 at 6.00pm (1 hour) –  for 8-year olds to 90-year olds. Derek Hook, a trustee of the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust has stories filled with humour and fanciful plots. On stage with Derek on the guitar will be Mike Walker, a highly regarded jazz guitarist and improviser from Manchester, UK.

Concert: Music of the Mystics by Monali Bala & Vedanth Bharadwaj. February 7 at 6 pm

Curated walk; J Krishnamurti’s Philosophy – A Designer’s Perspective. A curated walk by designer Miti Desai for a guided experience into the process of conceptualising and designing the exhibition. On Feb. 8  at 5 pm
