A few hundred people, mostly residents of Visalakshi Thottam off Abiramapuram took part in a protest against the CAA and NRC initiated by the central government.
They assembled outside the colony and were given placards which most of them hung around their necks. They then lined up on one side of the road, held hands and shouted slogans.
Men, women and teens took part in this Sunday morning protest ( March 1). Local police were on duty to regulate the protest.
