Now, people can have free food three times a day at Amma unavagams. On Thursday, the Chennai Corporation announced that all Amma canteens in the city would provide free food three times a day until the lockdown ends.
Since the lockdown, the unavagams have come as a huge help to conservancy workers and street dwellers.
In Mylapore, some of the Amma canteen outlets are at C.P.Ramaswamy Road (next Winner’s bakery), San Thome High Road (near the Registration Office) and Kamarajar Salai (near the Lighthouse)
