The 1st Open state-level chess tournament for visually challenged players, organised by Agal Foundation, an NGO dedicated to the visually challenged, was held on October 18 at YMCA College of Physical Education, Nandanam.
Inner Wheel Club of Chennai MRC Nagar, led by its president Kavitha Thiagarajan, joined hands with MRC Nagar residents and club members to support this initiative.
130 players from different districts competed.
The sponsorship included trophies, medals, 200 certificates, and protein-rich meals for 200 players and volunteers, said Kavitha Thiagarajan.
