Scholarships which amounted to over Rs.3.5 lakhs were handed over to students of families who attend Our Lady of Light Church in Luz.
Some 180 students from the economically weak sections of this community were given funds on August 15 at the church campus.
Arrangements were made for an orderly event in tune with the pandemic regulations of the day and church volunteers managed the whole event.
Said Fr Peter Thumma, parish priest here, “This is an annual event at the church and all the funds came from donations from our families and well wishers.”
