Chennai Corporation’s data on list of containment zones suggests that Mylapore has become free of virus containment zones.
According to the list, zone 9 (Teynampet zone) under which Mylapore area falls does not have any containment zones, as of August 15. Part of Mylapore that falls under Ward 173 (Adyar zone) too does not have any containment zone.
Till a few days ago, Alwarpet Street was the only containment zone in the neighbourhood. However, that street is no longer a containment zone now.
Containment zones are areas that have at least five or more index virus cases and 20 positive contacts.
