Five girl students, all of Rani Meyyammai Girls School in R A Puram were granted the first set of funding tom continue their studies in senior school this academic year with funds from Mylapore Times Charitable Trust.
Cheques were given to each of them on Tuesday. The amount – Rs.28,750.
Meanwhile, R. Narayanan has made a donation of Rs.20,000 to the MTCT fund campaign this season; this is the first donation made for this campaign which is an annual one by the Trust.
The Trust has committed a sum of Rs.1.5 lakhs towards scholarships and expects a need of close to Rs.3.0 lakhs for this season. The Trust is working with local school heads to get applications and expects at least 25/30 students to be eligible for support.
