MLA participates in distributing free food to poor: this is a state-directed scheme for a week

On Monday, the Mylapore MLA, R. Nataraj took part in the local area distribution of food freely to the poor as directed by the state’s chief minister, Edappadi Palaniswami.

The project in Chennai is undertaken by Chennai Corporation. Its teams have to cook and supply breakfast, lunch and dinner to the poor in specific areas.

This afternoon, the MLA joined AIADMK party cadres and civic workers to distribute lunch at Jeeva Colony, located off Kutchery Road.

The food is prepared at the GCC community hall on Kamaraj Salai in R. A. Puram and dispatched to local spots where the distribution is planned.

The project started on Sunday and will be on for a week. The chief minister says it rolled this out to support the poor who were badly affected by the virus pandemic situation and by problems caused by recent cyclonic weather.
