Govt. asks people to refrain from being at R-Day parade

The state government has asked people not to head to the Marina promenade on January 26 and take part in the Republic Day event to be held there from 7 a.m. onwards.

This is to respect the pandemic time regulations in force.

Every year, a few thousand people line up on either side of the road to watch the parade, a colourful one; the VIPs being located in a shamiana near Gandhi’s statue.

  1. Last year I was there for usual walk and took pics of the last minute preparations. It was 5.20 am.

    Chatted with some army folks!!

But this year, still plan to go just walk and watch and return early!!
