Over 60 women who reside in Ramakrishna Nagar in R. A. Puram were primarily responsible for the two-hour long Pongal celebration that this community held this Sunday morning ( Jan.10).
They planned and curated and conducted the event which included a kolam/rangoli contest held on Thiruveedhi Amman Koil Street.
The community also got resident entrepreneurs to donate gifts which were given as prizes to the kolam contest winners.
And as for funding the event, volunteer donations took care of the bills.
