Kalvivaru Street, which runs along the Buckingham Canal from the gates of the Mundagakanni Amman Temple MRTS station to Kutchery Road has been closed to vehicular traffic due to the ongoing civic work here.
Wide pavements, relaid road, landscaped edges, better lighting and a wall raised along the Canal banks is part of this much delayed project.
It intends to provide easy and smooth pedestrian movement from the station to Luz and Mylapore areas.
