There has been much criticism online and off on people taking part in the Panguni utsavam of Sri Kapali Temple not wearing m asks.
In reality, more people have bene wearing masks than when the fest began. But in the large crowds, social distancing has been a casualty.
The temple management has however produced special masks for the priests and volunteers, with the temple logo printed on the white cloth. Many do wear it during the processions though not all may do so properly.
