This choir of church in San Thome presented ‘Passion Concert’

On Palm Sunday morning, March 28, the CSI St. Thomas English Church congregation led by the Presbyter Rev. J Paul Sudhakar, went on a procession, singing and waving palm leaves around the Church, during the morning worship service.

This was a symbolic recreation of events that led to the condemnation and death of Jesus.

In the evening, the STEC Choir conducted by Anila Manoharan, presented a ‘Passion Recital’.

The choir sang ‘It took a Miracle’ – a praise musical by John W Peterson. The Easter themed Cantata was in three parts – His Praise, His Passion and His Power. The performance also included classical favourites like ‘Gloria’ from ‘Mozart’s Twelfth Mass’ and ‘Alleluia! Christ is Risen’ by Robert J Powell.

The choristers sang wearing masks, in adherence to the current regulations. The programme was also streamed live on the Church’s YouTube channel, for the benefit of those who could not be present.
