Chennai Corporation has shut down the satellite vaccine centre in Alwarpet a week after it was set in operation. This is because people are unwilling to walk down 200 mts to get the jab.
The centre was opened in the Chennai School of GCC on Bheemana Street, some 200 mts from the GCC clinic on C P R Road so that one set of people could be vaccinated there with huge crowds gathering at the clinic.
People were given challans and asked to head to the campus for the jab; but medical staff here said people did not like the idea.
