Dr. M. Mahender, BSc,MBBS, MS(ENT), DLO – of Mylapore passed away on May 18. He was 69 years old.
He was the son of yester-year’s celebrated cinematographer late S. Maruti Rao. His son is Dr. M. Harish, a well known Interventional pulmonologist.
Dr Mahender was a a popular ENT surgeon who practised in Mylapore for over 40 years and was known to generations of Mylaporeans whom he treated.
He was also an avid photographer. As a member of Photographic Society of Madras, perhaps the oldest in India he took part in many shows and displays and took time off to even shoot pictures of life in Mylapore.
He showcased these photos at national and international competitions. And at his clinic too.
