A full-scale oxygen generating plant with two units has been formally launched at Kauvery Hospitals in Alwarpet, and the hospital says ‘this is the first hospital in Chennai that will be fully self-reliant on in-house oxygen supply’.
The units at this plant produce some 700 litres per minute of medical grade oxygen that is primarily used by all critical care departments as well as for emergency, day-care and out-patient services.
The hospital says that the oxygen generation began in April itself and served many COVID patients treated at this hospital.
State minister Ma. Subramaniam and Mylapore MLA Dha. Velu did the honours at the formal launch of this facility on Sunday.
