Part of the street relaying work of the C P Ramaswamy Street in Abiramapuram took place on Thursday night last week.
Two road rollers continue to remain there with the balance part of the relaying of the road likely to have taken place on the weekend.
In the last fortnight or so, many roads / streets in the Mylapore area have been relaid.
In most cases, they have been milled – the top layer scraped away by milling machines, which has to be carried out as per the civic rules. If this is not done, the level of a street rises and often is above the level of street houses and campuses of apartments and when it rains hard and long, water is bound to flood the campus.
