The one place that holds some colour and buzz at Onam festival time in this area is the Sri Ayyappa Temple in MRC Nagar.
It is decorated richly with fruits, flowers and pookalam and is home to a stream of people from dawn.
But this Onam, on Saturday, since all places of prayer and worship are closed on weekends, the temple was deserted and there was no sign of any decoration too.
