Chennai Metro work in R. A. Puram: excavation begins

Work on Chennai Metro rail project proposed in the playground located off R. K. Mutt Road near the Jesus Calls campus junction in R. A. Puram is going on daily at a steady pace now.

Earth excavation work is in progress here even as on-site offices are being set up and equipment arrives at this spot..

Though the site has been bounded off on one side with metal barricades, traffic movement has not been affected as yet.

This work is related to Phase 2 Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro’s plans – a rail line that runs from Madhavaram in the north towards the south, beyond Adyar and Thiruvanmiyur and on to Sholinganallur via Perungudi with this line also linking Chetpet and Thousand Lights and passing through Luz and Mandaveli.
