The pipe-laying work that you get to see off Nageswara Rao Park is that of Metrowater.
Metrowater has been carrying out in parts, a project to lay a sewage-carrying pipeline that connects its pumping station near Vivekananda College to the one in Adyar.
Parts of this work is over in Mylapore and Mandaveli and now, work is being carried out in the zone around the park.
A local area Metrowater engineer told Mylapore Times that this section of the work is scheduled for 45 days and will also be carried out on Luz Church Road.
He said that local sewage lines will not be affected by this project.
