Residents of Sriram Naagr in Alwarpet, a colony located just off TTK Road say that their drinking water has been contaminated and that some of them fell ill after consuming it
They say that the brackish water they got in their pipelines alarmed them and now, they have locked the valves that allows water into sumps.
Metrowater’s local unit has been alerted to the issue and the officials are addressing it. It looks like a stormwater drain that runs alongside the water pipeline is leaking sewage and hence the pollution.
A similar problem occured earlier this year in this nagar.
